Facet joint injections / cervical foraminotomy?

This is a bit niche, but it looks like I'll need both of these some time in the next million years, does anyone have any experience of either of these?
The facet joint injections would be for my lumbar spine.
Thanks for reading.

My MIL has had them. They haven't really helped much.

I had thoracic facet joint injections for a number of years. I'll be honest, its pretty painful but worth it. Mine were in sets of six, so six locals then six steroid injections. They were done under xray by a lovely team, the same team for a number of years, every six months. (They were so kind, they let me hold a hand when it got very painful! I got to know them quite well in the end, and bumped into one of the staff in a different setting last year where we had a good catch up!!)
You do have to not eat beforehand, stay really really still while it's being done - but as relaxed as you can as it does make a difference to how effective they are - and then stay in the ward for a short while afterwards. The tea and toast afterwards tastes the best! You'll also need to be picked up and have someone stay with you for 24 hrs.

For me, they made a massive difference so were well worth it.
Happy to answer any questions you may have.

@Hotpinkangel19,
I'm sorry to hear she didn't find them helpful.
@June2008, I'm glad you found them helpful. I'm hoping that it will help with pain but also with unwanted numbness and tingling (no neurological reason found, so it's suspected to be my Fibromyalgia). (I do have bone marrow oedema in the facet joints, seen on MRI.)
I know it's likely to be painful.
I'm more worried about the jerking I get when I'm trying to relax my my muscles, as that would the good! Confused
