Would you wait it out or check in with a GP again?

I've been poorly for about 3 weeks. Took myself off to our local walk in centre when my throat was extremely sore and was diagnosed with acute tonsillitis and given penicillin. Near the end of the course, I started developing ear ache and throat pain again. Had a private consultation with a GP through work and was prescribed a different antibiotic for a further 5 days.

Now I'm come down with a chesty cough. I have night sweats, stuffy nose, and generally just knackered. I've got a weird pain in my left hand side, especially when I cough too! My throat doesn't hurt but I still have one enlarged tonsil with some white spots lingering.

Not sure whether to wait it out because its most likely a second infection or visit a GP again just on the off chance it's linked to my pesky tonsils!

What would you do?

Go back! Sounds miserable, hope you're feeling batter soon

Sounds like you need more antibiotics to be honest.

I've had rubbish tonsils for years - wish I'd had them taken out as a kid. And definitely linked to recurrent ear infections too. You need medical advice. I'd go back to the GP or at least call 111 today.

I agree go back. Maybe ask for a throat swab too so they can make sure you're on the right antibiotics.
Gargling with salt water helps with tonsillitis I've found
