Vitamin capsules - can you give just the insides?

Dd is taking Sanatogen vitamin capsules with Omega Oil. She doesn't like the actual capsule so has been taking just the contents. Is the capsule merely the container or does it also have nutrients in?

I let my dd spit the shell out - I am pretty sure that it is just the container !

I take the view that having the insides only is better than having nothing and that's what she's have if I didn't let her spit the shell out !

Yes, that's a sensible view, SB! Dd swears the capsule is made of rubber, lol.
