Urgent two week referral - how long in reality?

As the title suggested I was referred by my GP for 'suspected colorectal malignancies' and it's been over three weeks now.
To start with the referral appeared on my NHS app, then it disappeared from the app as it had gone back to the GP as an STT ( straight to test I think) referral because apparently that would be quicker.
This wait and worry is driving me mad and I really struggle to focus on work, just want to get to the test now, whatever it may be (my guess is colonoscopy).

You need to call your GP back and ask them to check the status of the referral. I do the 2 week wait referrals at work (GP practice) and I'm able to check the status etc. You should definitely have heard something by now

Ring the hospital, say you've been referred and it's over 2 weeks. Also ring the GP just to check the referral went through.
