Blisters on roof of mouth

Does anyone else get random attacks of blisters on the hard palate?

Every now and again (maybe every 2 months or so) I will feel bumps across the whole of one side of my hard palate, often with a headache too. They blister and then leave sort of hollows after a day or so, are really sensitive for 2 or 3 more days then go.

I can't pinpoint a trigger.

I do get cold sores (not at same time as these) and I have a hayfever-related sensitivity to certain raw fruits and vegetables (OAS for anyone who knows what that is). However I know the triggers and symptoms for OAS and this is different.

I'm guessing it's a manifestation of the cold sore virus.

It could be oral shingles?

Wow I just googled that and I think you are absolutely right! Thanks.

I see I can get a shingles vaccine from age 50- I'm 49. That's something to look forward to, ha ha!
