Hey mines started when I was pregnant a couple of years ago. Mostly started with pain in my teeth. Eventually progressed to pain in the jaw particularly when eating or just after eating. Physio helped as well as medication. Have a mouthguard also. Still can't eat hard/chewy foods and I have to cut my food up small so for me it's very much a lifestyle now but for most people it does go away by itself. Stress plays a big part in it.

Exactly the same symptoms for me. I get pain in my teeth too.
It comes and goes, it gets worse in winter too.
Heat helps!

So anyone with similar symptoms to me ?

Or uncommon TMJ symptoms

I get headaches, jaw clicks a LOT, neck pain, dizziness and when it's been really bad I haven't been able to open my mouth to eat properly. I had to slide biscuits in!

I use a mouth guard and an osteopath worked wonders on my neck, which helped with dizziness (apparently there's some vestibular processing stuff at the back of your neck and if it gets tense it can cause dizziness). Best thing I've done is botox in my jaw clenching muscles. Didn't hurt, doesn't affect chewing or anything else, has made a really big difference. I'm hoping to use botox for a year and then hope that the teeth clenching habit is broken. My jaw muscles are now much smaller as well as i had big balls of muscle from clenching!

Oh I also got teeth pain and sinus pain from the clenching.

Mine started in pregnancy, pain in jaw, progressed to the stage where I couldn't open my mouth more than a cm. Couldn't eat with cutlery, only things I could fit through the gap or drink with a straw. Consultant offered diazepam which wasn't going to work with new born twins. Eventually got a mouth guard which stopped me clenching at night and it eventually resolved.

I have TMJ disorder too. I had it for years and was told it was from stress but later found out it was from psoriatic arthritis. It has gotten a lot better since I started methotrexate but when I had to stop for 4 weeks due to infection recently, it came right back and I could barely open my mouth for the pain and there was swelling. My main symptoms are pretty much lockjaw, a grinding meshy noise/feeling when chewing (its hard to describe but if you have had it, you will know!), pain which can range from stabbing sharp pains to a dull pain like I've been punched in the jaw and then I can get earache/fullness. I think TMJ adds to my vertigo as well.

Pain relief wise, naproxen has been the only painkiller to help me.
