Vaginismus - anyone successfully conquered it? (TMI)

Diagnosed with this a few years ago. At one stage it was severe enough I couldn't even get a cotton bud in there, now I can to an extent use the smallest tampons but still can't have penetrative sex . I've had anaesthetics before for internal exams, smears etc .

I've had physio, and now seeing a specialist once a month - she's taught me relaxation techniques, graded exposure, diaphragmatic breathing etc . She asked me to get a small vibe, and try to gently insert once already turned on iyswim - have bought one labelled petite/first time and could not insert at all without feeling I was going to spilt in two - almost in tears . It's a similar pain to when you're at the dentist and they talk about 'pressure' - can feel pressure against my pubic bone which is agonisingly painful .

Have given up and realised I'm actually bleeding (not heavily) which can't be normal . I know stressing wont make it better but surely it shouldn't be this painful?
