Freckles aren't usually cause for concern, te, although I suppose what looks like a freckle could be a mole.

But it could also just be that you coincidentally got a spot or a bite or something else itchy right under the freckle and that your scratching the itch has caused the scab - hope so - try to stay calm. (I know it's hard though. Fingers crossed.)

JanH is right - I've had the same thing on a couple of my freckles where it's scabbed over and I've panicked. A few days later it has become obvious it's just been a bite or spot or something that has conveniently located itself on a freckle just to give me a heart attack!

By all means, it's best to have it checked out, but it really could just be that.

thanks, ill try to calm down a bit, just have to see what doc says on thursday

The way I try and get through these things is to think, worry about if and when you have to, but don't waste 2 or 3 nights stressing about it now when it's probably nothing to worry about.

I know it's easier said than done but it sometimes works for me cos I've worried needlessly about so many things.

Exactly the same thing happened to me - i went to the doctors and he said it was absoluletly fine. I think i had got a spot under the freckle and i had scratched it and it scabbed and was kind of raised

dont panic tiredemma.....my daughter had freckle which became raised & cracked....i was quite worried & my parents advised going to docs..this is unusual for them who NEVER use doctors. I went to doctor & he laughed & said 'is this all uve come for??' needless to say i have NEVER used that same doctor again

Hello everyone,
I just joined the website, and i'm a young teen. Im not a mum. But, I have a freckle on the sole of my foot!?! It is just below the toe... But recently I have been panicking as it has developed a soft sort of scabby thing over it!!! I have been very worried, as what else could it have been other than the obvious...? And the place of the freckle also worries me! :(((

ellieballerina · 03/06/2017 18:31

Also, i have been getting pains around my appendix area, but then I got pain the other side as well!!! (I haven't started my periods yet though!) :( Should I go to the Doc's about my freckle :( :/

ellieballerina · 03/06/2017 18:49

Also, some of it has peeled off at the bottom, and there is nothing underneath it but normal, I think, skin... What if it is cancer, because I though cancer cells were dried skin cells clumped together???!!!! I'm freaking out!!! :(

You sound like you have healthy anxiety.

ellieballerina · 03/06/2017 20:55

will i be ok?

coralush · 03/06/2017 21:04

Yes of course. I have it and just the way you write about the freckle is like reading something I would write when my healthy anxiety has reared its head.

I bet you that freckle will be nothing. Please don't worry yourself sick about it until Thursday. Xxx
