Best contraceptive for women with ADHD?

I’m awaiting a diagnosis on the (long) waiting list for ADHD.

My ADHD, particular the anxiety and negative thoughts, massively increase before my period when progesterone levels rise (reducing dopamine).

I’ve been prescribed Rigevidon (combined pill) to take all the way through (without a break after 3 weeks) to see if this controls it.

However, I’m not sure this is the best one? I’ve heard an Oestrogen only pill for 3 weeks, followed by progesterone only for one week, may work better with ADHD, but I’m not sure if these are even available?

any personal experience of ADHD and birth control or GPs?

Also interested in any answers here. My understanding is that progesterone-only pills (referred to as the mini pill) are the ones to avoid as progesterone can interfere with efficacy of ADHD medication and worsen symptoms. The combined pill is a mix of oestrogen and progesterone so is better than the mini pill. In the combined pill I think the oestrogen and progesterone are combined in different levels depending on which combined pill you have and I don't know which one is best. If you know, do tell!

Bumping in hope but not expectation, it’s a very specific question I know!
