It's swept through school and we've avoided it so far but they called me at lunchtime to pick ds1 up as he was feeling very unwell. He has been lying down on the settee all afternoon - he is white as a sheet, says he has a headache, really bad stomach ache and feels sick (and he hasn't eaten a thing since breakfast) but - thus far - no puking.

I'm going to pack him off to bed in a minute (with a bucket) but I just wondered if anyone had had the feeling poorly but without the being poorly, iyswim?

DD2 has been home feeling exactly the same all day - I am panicking because we are supposed to be going away for the weekend tomorrow as it is a close friend's wedding on Saturday.

yes, quite common here - the loss of appetite and the stomach ache, but no actual sick - I know quite a few people who have had this.
Ds1 has a similar thing today - high temp, stomach ache, looks awful, but did manage to eat 2 biscuits and 2 muffins! Temperature has come down now, and he's sleeping.
Not sure how long it lasts though.

I spent all last week feeling close to throwing up and never actually did throw up. Bit like when you have morning sickness and feel queasy but don't necessarily follow through iuswim. I'm not preggers by the way.

Finally ended the week with a really good dose of the runs and was fine from then on.

Oh, I'm sorry, Rosa - I hope she perks up and you can go to the wedding. Really bad timing.

Part of me thinks he might feel better if he was sick...he really doesn't look well. Seems like it's a common variation then.

DD2 seemed fine this morning and has gone to school. How is your DS Soren?

SorenLorensen · 25/01/2008 15:32

He is a bit brighter today (though it took him a long time to go to sleep last night as he had horrible crampy stomach pains). He had some toast for breakfast and some soup for lunch - still not 100%, but better than he was. Thanks for asking, Rosa - and I'm glad your dd is recovered: you can go to the wedding!
