And, more bizarrely, that it smells like my MILs bad breath!! Are these things inherited, I wonder? He eats well and gets his teeth brushed am/pm. Anyone else come across this?

Is he drinking enough? Dehydration can cause bad breath.

Does he drink much cow's milk? That always made my ds's breath smell.

my dd is 1 too and her breath smells when she has a cold. all mucousy.......yuk

He doesn't drink lots of milk, he has had a few colds recently so maybe that is it, and the dehydration that goes with it. I'll try getting more water down him. Glad someone else has the same problem!

I aways seem to notice my DS has BB when he is poorly, usually with a temperature. Its quite a sweet unpleasant smell. I think dehydration might be the undelying cause tho as a previous poster has said.
