smelly breath in a 3 year old

I think that my DS, age 3, has not very pleasant smelling breath. He eats a fairly healthy diet, cleans his teeth twice a day, probably doesn't drink quite as much as he should do.

Any ideas what might be causing it?

My nephew who is 6 now always gets smelly breath when he is brewing an illness, you know a tummy bug or tonsilitis. do you think it could be that maybe?

Contipation can cause a bit of a smelly breath.

I always help with teeth cleaning so sure it's being down properly. Will check his tongue tonight.
He is a bit poorly just now, the cold/cough/gungy eye thing, so i'll see if the breath gets better once this has all gone.
He's definitely not constipated.

Drinking plenty is very important for avoiding smelly breath. Try increasing the drinks too.

Bad breath usually comes from tummy, teeth or lungs - fennel tea helps the tummy digest food. If it is the lungs I would find a good herbalist e.g. Association Master Herbalists.

Could be the catarrh, especially if he is prone to breathing through his mouth and snoring. Try to keep his nose clear with saline solution and to breath through his nose.
