Sorry not sure what to put in the title.

This is in my pubic area and I've had it about 3/4 months. Is it an ingrown hair? Can't remember how it started but I think it used to be an ingrown hair maybe and I picked it so many times then this happened.

Can I get rid of it? I just want to rip it off like a scab but I'm worried it will make it worse!

I'm so embarrassed about it.

Looks like a mole.

Athyrium · 12/09/2022 16:13

Yep, a mole

dmask · 12/09/2022 16:14

It’s a mole

Everylittlethingsgonnabealright · 12/09/2022 16:15

Looks too pale to be a mole to me and if you know you’ve picked at it before an ingrown hair might be more likely.

Burnamer · 12/09/2022 16:16

Looks nothing like an ingrown hair to me. If it’s changed I’d get it checked.

Pixiedust1234 · 12/09/2022 16:20

I agree with the others, its mole. Since its new get it checked but its not dark or irregular edged. Do you have econsult where you can send your gp a picture? Go that route rather than a face-to-face if you can.

Donotgogentle · 12/09/2022 16:23

An intradermal nevus is a type of mole which has the same colour as the surrounding skin, moles are not always dark.

But can a mole appear randomly? Is there a way to get rid of it?

Looks like a genital wart to me. Definitely not an ingrown hair and a mole is unlikely to suddenly appear there.

But a wart wouldn't have hair grow through it? And this does

That's not an ingrown hair

autumn1610 · 12/09/2022 17:04

not an ingrown hair. Looks Mike like to me. I recently got a new one on the back of my leg had it checked out and it’s ok. New moles happen

Pixiedust1234 · 12/09/2022 22:13

Of course a mole can appear randomly. Its a growth. If you want it removed you need to speak to your gp or go private. It has to be sent to a lab to be checked. So to start the ball rolling contact your gp first. It looks like a mole but you need a medical person to confirm.

santorinii · 12/09/2022 22:15

It looks like a wart or skin tag

it looks too far gone to be an ingrown hair but I’m not a GP. Maybe it is an an infection has caused it to look like that. Get an appointment booked in

I know it’s been a long time but did you ever get answers on this?
