Cracked Heels - any cream recommendations?

My heels are really dry and cracked (not bleeding but bit crevices in them).

They are so rough and annoy me as they catch on socks and on the sheets in bed.

I hav bought Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream but it does sod all.

Any suggestions?

I use the austrailian one, let me find it ....flexitol heel balm. Use it twice a day, and although its pricey, its fab.

Horned hoofers and 10 years younger bootcampers unite in recommending Flexitol wilkie - it really does work

mrspnut · 23/01/2008 08:43

Flexitol is good

shrinkingsagpuss · 23/01/2008 08:57

Blimey, we should get commission for advetising!!

justwaterformethanks · 23/01/2008 09:13

whatever you use ,slather loads on before going to bed and wear socks in bed ,this will help it be absorbed

harpsichordcarrier · 23/01/2008 09:16

yeah, flexitol though it is spensive

Wilkie · 23/01/2008 09:19

i've heard that rubbing the soggy side of banana skin on them is good! defo cheaper

LynetteScavo · 23/01/2008 21:13

I sue the Boots own for cracked heals. All heal creams seem to contain Urea (sp?) - Is thisnanything to do with urine?

expatinscotland · 23/01/2008 21:14

flexitol is much cheaper in Superdrug.

marina · 23/01/2008 21:21

The urea in all these good foot creams is synthetic these days Lynette and no widdle is involved (given the amount of Flexitol I use I was seriously worried about this)

Alambil · 23/01/2008 21:29

scholl worked for me - had to use it for a week, twice a day though

also - up the amount of water you drink - my feet have gone from dry balls of my feet and heels to sooo supple just by drinking water (6 glasses a day)

LynetteScavo · 23/01/2008 21:29

Thankyou marina, I thought I was rubbing cows piss into myself.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 23/01/2008 21:44

But who discovered that uric acid was good for dry skin/cracked heels? Someone who spent much of the day with wet & smelly feet I'd wager.

marina · 24/01/2008 15:13

The benefits of urine (I am starting to sound like Sarah flaming Miles now) I think were known to people from Roman times onwards
It is sterile and softens and bleaches eg wool for togas when used with fuller's earth
So maybe the people who washed the togas had lovely soft trotters?

cornsilk · 24/01/2008 15:16

Flexitol and put plastic bags over your feet for a bit.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 24/01/2008 19:38

Thanks Marina!

Swear by Aveda Foot relief - rubbed in every day, having wizzed a Dr Scholl or Boots white pumicy thing over heels in shower first. the trick with whatever you use is to rub them EVERY day - in about 3 weeks you will have perfect feet, I promise

MaeWest · 24/01/2008 20:02

I had some Lansinoh left over from early days of breastfeeding, so have been using that on my manky heels, topped off with fluffy socks in bed.

bundle · 25/01/2008 22:21

calmurid v high urea content
