What an awful shock DS1 and I got. We were coming home from school and DS2 was running behind DS1 when he fell flat on his face. It was so bad I heard the bang . We went home after quite a few tears then an hour or so later DS2 started going all funny and trying to nod off. He was crying and saying mummy over and over too. I stood him up and he looked very strange so I got my next door neighbour to come in and she said he isn't right take him to the docs. She watched DS1 and I ran out into the street with him and jumped in front of the next car waving madly. Luckily I knew her but I wouldn't have cared if not and she took me to docs. We waited in a room whilst doc looked at him and the nurses were fantastic. They said he needed to go to hospital and got an ambulance. I was praying like mad in the docs and didn't care who saw! He looked that bad that the guy in the back of the ambulance said put the lights on to the driver. Well, when we got there he jumped off my knee and played totally normally with all the toys. He was back to normal and has been fine ever since. The doc said it was concussion and just to keep an eye on him.

Oh juniper - that sounds terribly frightening I'm so glad everything now seems to be fine.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 27/11/2004 17:30

What a fright for you juniper - glad he seems ok now .

Chocol8 · 27/11/2004 17:32

Oh blimey Juniper! That's a Mums worst nightmare! Have you calmed down yet? Glad he was ok when he got there, but - lights one minute and then playing fine when he got there!!!! Obviously made of sturdy stuff.

wobblyknicks · 27/11/2004 17:34

Poor you juniper!!! So glad he's ok now

JuniperDewdrop · 27/11/2004 17:43

Yes I've calmed down now thanks, he's so cute and to see him lying there all floppy was awful. He's back to his lovely self now.
To top it off dh is away in the US for a week. I've spoken to him by phone but won't tell him until he gets home as there's no point worrying him for nothing.
My neighbour's coming round tonight for a chinese and a few glasses of wine so that'll help me totally chill

Did you know that a chinese and (many) glasses of wine is the law after such a shock? Have fun! x

coppertop · 27/11/2004 18:22

That must have been so frightening. I'm glad your little man is feeling better now. Enjoy that chinese and wine.

fruitful · 27/11/2004 19:20

Oh how scary! It would take me a week to stop shaking.

Was he "with it" enough to realise that he was getting a ride in an ambulance? (maybe he's not old enough to care, I don't know). I expect he can enjoy it retrospectively IYSWIM.

Enjoy the chinese!

Twiglett · 27/11/2004 19:22

KBear · 27/11/2004 19:58

Juniper my heart was pounding just reading your post - I know the fright you must have felt and thank goodness he's okay now. Have a large glass of wine tonight and relaxxxxxxxxx.

JuniperDewdrop · 28/11/2004 20:31

Cheers all, we had a lovely night thanx. I still keep staring at him though as I can't believe he's ok. DS1 said he was jealous because he didn't get to go in an ambulance DS2 is 4 btw so he would've noticed but he was so out of it.
