Urgent - kidney disease and ibuprofen

Hi. I've got kidney disease stage 2, egfr is at 86. Doc has told me no ibuprofen, but I've had an agonising headache for days and paracetamol not cutting it. Just how much harm would it do to my kidneys to take two nurofen on this occasion? Just feel like my headache needs stomping out with something stronger.

Obviously I would ask doc if I could!

Your doctor has already said no ibuprofen so I would follow that advice.

Speak to a pharmacist, they're in the best position to advise.

A large proportion of people on this forum will have an egfr lower than 86! If you have been told strictly no ibuprofen then stick to that, but if the advice was just based on your egfr, then a one off ibuprofen won't be a problem.

A one off dose won't do any damage, prolonged use yes.

Thank you all. I decided to just take the one instead of two. Grin
