Possible kidney infection - should I see doctor?

I noticed pain in my side yesterday afternoon that feels like I have a constant stitch at my waist. It's still there this morning and a bit of googling tells me it's most likely a kidney infection.

My pee is ever so slightly cloudy and I noticed a few weeks ago that it had an unusual smell but that didn't last. Other than that I have no other symptoms.

I'm tempted to try and see my GP today as I'm worried about leaving it to develop over the weekend, but also worried about wasting their time.

Can I 'flush it out' by drinking plenty water? Or best nip it in the bud and see gp? I've not had this before and it's making me feel very anxious.

Mine started like this and a sort of constipated backache feeling and ended up with continuous vomiting, fever, feeling like i actually might die so I personally would make one!

Good luck OP. I've just got over one which involved hours in an A&E corridor on an antibiotic drip. Hope you get answers later.

Sooo, I got antibiotics from the nurse as there were leukocytes in my urine, but otherwise everything looks ok. Temp, heart, BP etc all ok.

Took the prescription to the pharmacy, waited 30 mins to be served, told prescription would be another 30 mins so I said I'd go back after work. Got there 15 mins before they're suppose to close and they're already closed. Let's hope it doesn't get any worse overnight 😔
