Can GP receptionist see blood tests ordered even if no results yet?

Hello,

I’m in a bit of a tizz. I rang the gp surgery as I had 3 blood tests done last week and the results are taking ages.

The receptionist could only see one test on my record and said the results weren’t back… but I’m thinking she could see the results as it’s only one out of three, and the other two haven’t come back yet?

Which has also made me think that something is wrong and she couldn’t tell me😩 am I jumping too far ahead? I hope this made sense.

Receptionist generally say results aren’t back yet if the Dr hasn’t seen them and added a comment such as ‘normal, satisfactory, abnormal, speak to Dr’.

things that take longer and may actually not be back include Vitamin D or a test for coeliac which, on our system, pops up and says may take up to 3 weeks. Things are a bit slower -especially for non urgent results-if any of the Drs are on holiday as they will report on the more important/abnormal bloods first.

Thank you @Itsnotthesameasitwas
id made the jump and assumed she was lying and that I’m waiting for the doctor to tell me I’m dying 🤦🏽‍♀️

Agree with PP. At our surgery we will tell patients results aren't back if the GP hasn't looked at them yet. Most will be back in 2 days but the longest bit is getting the GP to comment on them as they are so busy. I wouldn't worry
