Intense muscle pain then vomiting

This first happened the day after the first 40 degree heatwave. It was colder and a bit drizzly so took dog to big field. Walking back up the hill I got an intense muscle pain between my shoulder blades. Driving home I could barely sit still. Got in the house and whatever I did, sit/stand/lay the pain just kept getting more intense. I then had the sudden urge to be sick. Threw up three times and the pain went. I put it down to me walking hunched over.
This afternoon, it happened again, but pain right at the top of my rib cage, and in the middle. I wasn't sick that time but very close.
Then it came back about 20 mins ago. Same pain, same place, so intense you just have to walk around. Have been sick twice and pain gone.

Any idea what this is? Could it be heat related??

It is unlikely to be muscle pain if you are vomiting. Gall bladder? I would ring 111.

I'd absolutely ring 111 right now to see what they have to say. It does not sound typical of a heart attack but women's symptoms often aren't, apparently. Whatever it is pain that makes you actually vomit is serious and should be investigated ASAP.

My first two thoughts were gall bladder or heart attack. Heart attacks often aren't anything like how they are portrayed on TV, especially for women. I would absolutely be calling 111.

Quick Google finds the following description of heart attack symptoms in women -

Pain can be much more subtle. It may travel to the left or right arm, up to the chin, shoulder blades and upper back — or to abdomen (as nausea and/or indigestion and anxiety). Women are also more likely to experience these accompanying symptoms: shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting and back or jaw pain.

Morning all - thanks so much for the replies. I looked up gallstones and the list of symptoms matches mine almost exactly. Drs appointment it is!
