Clove stuck in throat

So today I had some Pilau rice and I appear to have on the cloves stuck in my throat, which is now starting to hurt! What do I do?! I’ve tried drinking a fizzy drink, eating a banana, coughing forcefully!

My DH got a fish bone stuck in his throat and it had to be removed in A & E. They did say it’s best to attend promptly as the tissue can swell a lot round stuck objects and make it harder to get out. I think I would ring 111 for advice if it’s been stuck for a while.

This is a common reason for attending A&E, we probably see 1-2 a day where I work (usually fish bones). Easily removed with the right kit by someone who knows what they're doing

Happened to me years ago. Try eating dry bread to help dislodge it. Worked for me and I was choking at the time.

Thanks all… I just done a very forceful sneeze and I thought that I had done the trick! But no can still feel it! I’ll try the bread now!

Good luck-I had this exact thing once, and tried everything, including making myself sick. In the end, I think it may have gone down but it felt like it was still there for ages, possibly because it had scratched my throat.

Dry bread might help 🤞
