I was in the bath earlier and just happened to feel down there and inside I thought I felt quite a big lump I spose like a marble I wasn't laying flat just leaning on the back of the bath how u do but in a panick I quickly got out and felt it standing up and I could still feel it so got myself dried etc and laid flat in the bed and thought I'd check again and couldn't feel it 🤷🏻‍♀️ so have I actually got a lump or not 🤦🏻‍♀️ I rang the doc straight away and am booked in for Tuesday afternoon ( I suffer with bad health anxiety as it is so this has really topped it off) has anyone else had this or thinks what it could be. I'm so scared and worried 😭

Are you sure you haven't felt your cervix because of the position you were laying in?

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 18:59

@TheFormidableMrsC I'm not really sure as could feel it standing up aswel but laying flat couldn't feel it, I am on my period at the moment if that makes any difference 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've got 3 children u would think I'd know all of this lol. Having health anxiety really doesn't help in these situations 😭

I hear you. My cervix feels dome shaped. I imagine that the motion of moving around will change position. You've got an appointment and it will be fine. I also have health anxiety and once went to the docs with a lump between my boobs that was actually my sternum. So embarrassing 🤣

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 19:12

@TheFormidableMrsC thanks u for getting back to me. I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about and it's just me panicking as usual 😭🤦🏻‍♀️ (hurry up Tuesday)
Oh don't that sounds like me I'm in and out the docs all the time with every possible illness!

I saw this and as a man I am totally unsure but I want to say that I hope Tuesday is good and everything is fine.

TaraRhu · 29/07/2022 19:21

Is it a prolapse? Have you had kids? I have one after 2 kids and natural delivery. Feels like a big bulge up there....

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 19:25

@TaraRhu I've got 3 kids, youngest is 2 1/2. That's what it feels like a big bulgy marble size (sorry TMI) 🤦🏻‍♀️ but feels more to the right side I would say!

I’m On the waiting list to see a gyno. It is fairly run of the mill thing, if it’s that. I realised I had it as the bulge got in the way of tampons.

I know it’s terrifying finding any sort of lump. But chances are it’s nothing serious. You’ve done the right thing making an appointment with the gp. Please let us know what they say.

LHReturns · 29/07/2022 19:40

How far inside is it?

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 19:43

@TaraRhu thank u Hun, thing is when I lie flat I can't feel it 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ so not really sure what it is or if it's always been there tbh, where I've got health anxiety sometimes it's so heightened and just makes things feel much worse than what they are but I'm going Tuesday to be checked and hopefully everything ok 🤞
Hope you get your app soon! X

Any chance it could be this? www.nhs.uk/conditions/bartholins-cyst/

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 19:47

@LHReturns literally just inside

It's sounds exactly like a cyst mentioned above, I've had one checked, it was painless and felt like a marble and right up inside (my bf noticed it!)

I was of course convinced that I had some sort of terrible tumour but the nurse sent me away saying it's really common. It's still there 10 years on, it hasn't changed. Go get it checked to be sure but really try not to worry as it sound exactly like what I had/have

Me too…I’ve had it twice and always went away by itself.

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 20:07

@Sally7645 thank u, I'm hoping it's nothing! I've had a little cry 🤦🏻‍♀️ so going to try forget about it for the weekend and just go along Tuesday! Anything I get, Lumps, bumps u name it I think it's sinister!

Did you have any stitches or an episiotomy with any of your children? I had the same thing and went to the doctors and it was basically scar tissue that had formed a lump from where I’d had an episiotomy with my dd 18 years ago…! Not sure how I’d not felt it before but there you go..! Anyway I’m sure hopefully the doctor can put your mind at rest. There are loads of harmless things it could be.

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 20:13

@Afterfire I had stitches with all of my children. I have been on Google 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know it's the worst thing and makes me even worse but can't help it but does say when your on your period your cervix etc can drop down so maybe it's even that 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just don't know 😩

OP posts:
addictedtotheflats · 29/07/2022 21:19

It will probably be scar tissue from the stitches. I had an episiotomy and have the same. Had a major panic thinking I had a prolapse and went GP and they were very reassuring. U can actually get it removed it if is causing pain/discomfort

stillvicarinatutu · 29/07/2022 21:29

Bartholins cyst op.

They tend to reoccur even if popped .

I had emergency surgery for one after it got infected. It still came back .
Had it drained . Still came back .
Now I just live with it . It's not pretty but I'm single so I'm not bothered.

MrsPnut · 29/07/2022 21:33

I had a fatty lump in my vagina years ago that a nurse commented on during a smear. She wasn’t concerned and it isn’t there now.

You are doing the right thing seeing the GP, and I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Bobbylola123 · 29/07/2022 21:49

Thank u all for replying to my post really appreciate it ❤️ I'm trying not to panic too much and not Ruin my weekend and deal with it on Tuesday at the docs 🤞

Maybe a Gartners Duct cyst. They are rare and usually pretty harmless. I have quite a good size one. I freaked out when I discovered it and when off to the GP. Had an urgent appointment with gynaecologist and a MRI. Gynaecologist told me he hadn’t seen one in his 30 years of practice. It’s not painful or anything but I can sometimes feel it moving if I bend down or sit in a certain position.
