So I have lots of risk factors I am the wrong end of my 40s, overweight (very), poor diet, not enough exercise. Recently I have had other symptoms- constantly tired, blurred vision and now pins and needles in my left hand which has been constant for a few days. I have three teenage children and its hard work, emotionally and physically. My dad has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimers, I work full time. I know I should eat better and move more, I have tried and tried I just cant seem to do it. Could I be diabetic. I feel tearful at the thought because if i am it will all be my own fault and I just cant stand the thought of something else to deal with. Any advice very welcome. I have booked a blood test to check. If II am what will the treatment be?

You will be seen by either GP or a Diabetic Nurse. All depends on the results you will get. Listen to what information they get and take advantage of prick tests. Even if you have to buy your strips to replenish it is the best way to understand how the food you eat affects you.
At the moment just wait and see. You may be pre diabetic or 100% healthy anyway.
