Doctor or dentist for lump

I woke up in a lot of pain. I found a lump on the underside of my jawbone towards the joint. My glands in my neck are swollen too.
I got someone else to feel the jawbone without telling them which side and they found the same lump I did.
I can't decide if this is a GP issue or a dentist issue.
I do have awful teeth! I have had infections before and they never felt like this. I have no toothache at all. No recent problems on that side at all and the pain and lump are on the underside of the jaw bone.
I have had super itchy armpit on that side and down my arm and onto my boob on that side for weeks but can't think this is related.
I am immune suppressed so the threshold for getting things checked out is low.

GP or dentist first?

Bump - it’s really painful.

Try for an appointment with both and see which comes up first. Go to both unless you are happy with what the first one says.

Make an appointment for both

Either will refer you if necessary or give you antibiotics if needed. See which appt you can get first.

Dentist.
I had a lump as a teenage and bounced between GP and dentist before the dentist took ownership and sent me to the dental hospital.

Probably the dentist first.
They can either sort it out if tooth-related, refer to Oral Max-fac if something unusual, or, will tell you to see your GP.

I’d say dentist too, both myself and son have been told by doctor to go to dentist with infections. Ds ended up in hospital because doctor wasn’t sure and the nurse said actually he could have just gone to the dentist!! Obviously every case is different but best of luck op, hope you get some relief
