Poo advice please (quite descriptive)

If you are squeamish then please don't read this as I'm going to be quite descriptive...

It's Friday at 4.30pm. On Wednesday eve I was doing some sport and, about 5 mins from the end I let out a little fart as I regularly do. But it felt different and I realised I might have diarrhoea. I got through the rest if the activity, got home and realised I'd followed through. Not real poo, just mucous-y fluid.Bit embarrassing but not the end of the world.

Overnight I had to go several times but it was the same. And I couldn't control it iykwim. I sat down and it squirted out. Same throughout Thursday and felt a little unwell but nothing major - I worked all day. Thurs eve played same sport again and when I got home, it had continued to happen. More seepage than intentional 'going'.

Nothing last night but have had the same issue today. Uncontrollable 'seepage', then when I do go to the loo, it's this mucous like liquid. Not diarrhoea like I've had it before.

I'm drinking plenty but not eating quite as much. Trying to eat beige food.. NHS app says diarrhoea can go on for 5-7 days but I've not had it like this before. When I got for a wee the poo just comes out without me trying. If I fart at all (which I'm trying not to), I follow-through. But then I can just sit here and a bit squirts out.

I'm 51, fit and healthy. Have had a bit of constipation in recent weeks. No stomach cramps but there is a slight constant feeling there that I need to go. Haven't had a proper poo since Tuesday.

I'm thinking I'll see how the weekend goes and then try and call GP Monday if nothing has changed. The.publicity around BowelBabe has made me more aware (RIP Flowers).

Any thoughts?

PS. This is complete genuine. Im not a poo fetish person I promise.

Some medications can cause anal leakage but it is something you should get checked out.

From the seems of it, (I'm no expert and based on my own bowels) sometimes it's a food I've eaten, or sometimes it's a bug but not potent enough for heavy side effects, more just lose poos, so to speak, usually I have potatoes ect as they soak up liquids and after a few days it's better.

I would book an appointment with the GP

Is it possible after the constipation that you have developed the start of piles? I get a mucous like discharge with them. Is your bum itchy?

Either way that type of change in bowel habits with no obvious reason is worth a trip to the GP

BucketHat · 22/07/2022 16:49

Also piles can make you feel like you need to go!

bloodywhitecat · 22/07/2022 16:50

Do you think you might be impacted?

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/07/2022 16:50

Thank you all.

No change to my medication and no itching. No piles that I've noticed either. Will call the GP Monday I think.

Sounds like leakage around an impaction (my DS has chronic constipation)
