Sore neck mystery

i am trying to see my GP but wondered if anyone had ideas about this. My neck is sore on one side. A bit sore like your skin gets sore after sunburn rather than a deep muscle pain. It’s not red. There’s no lump though there’s a tenderness when I press I can’t feel a lymph node. It’s weird!

I know we shouldn’t seek medical advice on her but thought I’d ask as gp appointment not for a while.

Where is the location of the pain on the neck? I'm having front of neck pain myself to the left of my windpipe. Spoke to GP who is going to test for thyroid issues but blood test not for another month as no appointments!

Sounds like maybe parathesia ... possibly due to a pinched nerve, could the swollen gland be pinching a nerve? I get this in my face, but the cause is dental & I'm waiting on surgery. It could be due to a few things, cervical spine problems to vitamin B12 deficiency, but what you describe is parathesia

Thanks for replies. Feels more sore than pain. Like a bruise. Had dentist check and nothing. Even did an x Ray. Definitely no lump.
