I have had a dry hacking cough for almost five weeks now. I spoke to the GP on the phone a few weeks ago who said it would be a lingering viral cough that can take six weeks to clear.
The daytime is manageable, but as soon as its evening I am having coughing fits so bad I am vomiting. I've got a codeine cough medicine which helps a bit, I try and sip water when i need to cough, I am resting and drinking water. Jakemans lozenges help some.
I have never been one to suffer with a bad chest so I am a bit gazumped. Negative Covid test.
The only thing thats lingering is that I have a large liver cyst that am waiting for a callback to discuss options on from the hospital - and my diastasis recti seems to have gotten worse so I have managed to convince myself that the cyst is pushing things and causing the cough? Happy to be told am being ridiculous.
