Monthly diarrhoea

For the last 5 months I've had 24hours ish of diarrhoea around the same date each month. I'm awaiting a gastroenterology appointment, also have suspected endometriosis. I've put it down to hormones although it happens at a different stage in my cycle each month. Have tried different contraceptions with no difference.

I just wonder if someone has had similar and it eventually stopped or whether you did anything particular to help it?

My husband is having to take time off each month to help look after our 13month old because I can't get off the loo when it happens until the immodium kicks in and there is often no warning when it's coming so its affecting things alot and I'm getting fed up with it all.

Thanks

Hi, I am currently having same issue did you find a cause?

Oliversmummy19 · 05/07/2023 20:04

I started having lots of investigations but then fell pregnant so everything is now on hold. I tried lots of things, acupuncture, bland diets etc. I re started Amitriptyline which I'd been on previously for ibs and that really helped. I also started taking charcoal for the diarrhoea which also helped. Still none the wiser of the cause though. Hope you get some answers

gall bladder?

My gp thinks it is related to my menstrual cycle. It always happens when I ovulate which discounted because I assumed it was periods when you could get stomach problems.

You can try some natural remedies during the diarrhea time. It may be helps to overcome in a simple way.
