I'm not a good advertisement for this... I read loads about it in first pregnancy, and although it sounded like a good idea, I tried it a couple of times and it just felt too wierd, so I gave up. I have had two vaginal deliveries and no tears or episiotomys (although I am not sure how to spell them) so I am not bothering this time either! I kept quiet in my antenatal classes when the teacher was going on about how beneficial it was, although she did say if you'd had one delivery without tearing it might not be necessary to do perineal massage the next time.
