Saw doctor this morning for horrendous ongoing cough from hell, extremely sore throat and achy lungs, she prescribed a three day course of steroids to take which I've started and also prescribed a seven day course of antibiotics but told me she thinks it's viral more upper respiratory and would be thinking covid if all tests weren't negative, my lungs surprisingly were clear at the moment but she said to take the antibiotics as cough has been ongoing a few weeks.
I've had so many antibiotics the last few years including intravenous and had candida in throat at the time probably caused by all the antibiotics.
What would you do would you take the antibiotics?

They don't prescribe antibiotics lightly these days, so yes, if they have been prescribed, then it is probably best. If you are unsure, then contact your GP and ask their advice.

If take them if they've suggested them, it will be a pathway so you if the problem is still going they will have expected you to have tried the antibiotics.
