Suspicious moles being removed

I had 2 moles looked at today and they recommended having them surgically removed and testing for melanoma. I'm trying not to panic, but with two young children at home I can't help it 😥

Has anyone been through this and had a good outcome

I did. Don’t stress it’s probably nothing. I was referred for two big nasty moles, one on my hip and one on my breast. They were both irregular, partly dark and bled when I towel dried after a shower. I had six stitches when the hip one was removed as it turned out to be deeper than expected. I expected the worst but both biopsies were ok and no cancer.
Fingers crossed !

I work in dermatology. Try not to panic. I know it's difficult but malignant melanoma is relatively rare. If it is a basal cell or squamous cell carcinoma it can be removed and neither spread to other areas of the body. The good thing is your getting them checked and can take it from there. Good luck.
