MS or healthy anxiety

Bare with me on this cause I feel like I might end up on a ramble of my thoughts!

In 2016, I had optic neuritis and after MRI scan nothing came back so all was good. I'm a VERY anxious person and soon after this and learning ON was a major symptom of MS, I started to develop numbness and weakness that quickly passed and a few weeks later I went on a very active 3 week holiday with no issues.

Cut to now - I've been unwell with an inner ear infection which doctors have diagnosed as labriynthitis. I've only just this week been prescribed with betahistine to help, and it's not had any effect yet which I expected.

Because I feel so dizzy and have constant tinnitus, my brain goes straight to thinking MS again. My legs feel weak and my hands are very tingly too. I did mention my MS worries to my doctor but she didn't seem to concerned about it and said to see how I get on with betahistine and spoke to me in depth about my anxiety (also diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder in 2016) and thinks a lot of my worries are linked back to health anxiety.

Has anyone else experienced similar?

@worryingmamax
I am not sure if I can be any help, but wish you well and how are you doing now?.
I am 34 yrs old and have normal bp, normal cholesterol, normal weight but due to ongoing health issues I have lost weight so now weigh around 51kg giving me a bmi of 19.1. Have a long story but what started off as sharp central chest pains, dizziness like being on a boat sensation, palpitations in may 2022 (having the best time of the year, new job, daughter settling and doing well in reception at a specialist school she is 5 has autism-so was not anxious at all neither stressed. However, kept going into A&E thinking I have some sort of heart problem they did many chest x rays, blood tests and quick ecgs all tests normal. So gp has referred me to cardiology the first appointment which is a consultation is end of September and I already had the 24hr ecg monitor so awaiting results from gp which should come by next week. However, thinking the worst what has now transpired is that within 1 month from 1 July and to the present time now I been having muscle twitching and spasms all around my body they just started randomly one day early July, so my both arms, neck, abdomen, head eye, chin have been twitching away. I have been getting internal tremors back of my head and upper shoulders especially left when I wake up in the morning daily I can feel vibrations back of my head, pins and needles, tingly, buzzing sensation in my hands especially left and constant pressure jn my head, my eyes hurt and there is pressure in my both ears like when you have sinusitis. So my stupid brain is telling me something sinister is happening like MND, PD, or MS. For the past 3 days I have muscle ache and weakness in my left hand like my fingers are stiff and have a slight tremor in both hands when stretching them out in front. I had blood tests done recently on Tuesday and have requested go surgery for a copy of all my results. The gp said the following on Thursday when I spoke on the phone:

All blood tests (vitamins, electrolytes, ferritin, folate are normal- so he is not worried and not referring to neurology).
Said that if there was a possibility that u had a neurological problem the symptoms even with with most serious diseases do not rapidly show so many signs and symptoms within 3 to 4 weeks in your case going from muscle twitching to loss of motor skills and weakness in left hand would not happen in a span of 3 weeks. He said this is most likely health anxiety ruling your mind and therefore u are physically manifesting symptoms which make u think that u have Ms or a brain tumor.
So I don't know, I should believe my gp and relax but I have suffered health anxiety in the past in 2015 relating to bowel where I started panicking thinking I had bowel cancer but everything was fine and was diagnosed with IBS after exclusion based on tests. However, during that time in 2015i never experienced palpitations, tremors, dizziness etc.
The symptoms tha I am having now are not going away and are getting worse and now my left hand is so achy which us most likely me doing all the strength tests with my fingers😣, I started panicking that I have a slight tremor both my hands especially left when I stretch them out in front was worried sick as I never noticed this before but gp did say as u get older when stretching hands in front due to gravity there will be a slight tremor or even a shake that u feel in your upper arms.
It's the summer holidays rather than enjoying time with husband and my sweet daughter I am caught up with my own health problems. It's just that in the news there have been many cases were people have been misdiagnosed by doctors and had serious health conditions. If I could have a referral and an mri test with other neurological bases tests this would put my mind at ease. I am taking a multi vitamin anf applying a magnesium sleep lotion but haven't seen any big difference- my lips left leg and left arm still jerk when I fall asleep.
Sorry this was a long post, but wanted to let u know that you are not alone, if this is anxiety at least the assumption should be made when tests have come back normal which my gp surgery is basing upon just blood tests. I am tempted to call again and if not might get a private consultation if I can afford it(self pay).

Spoken to different guys at the surgery have asked them to check my ears, but they are refusing to see me in person. Have you been referred to neurology?
