Anyone had gout?

So this week I've had a lovely bout of gout. My foot feels like it's on fire! I've had frozen peas on it intermittently all day and had ibuprofen gel on 3 times today so far. Got drs on Monday for blood test to make sure it is gout but blinking heck it's sore. Anyone had it and got any pain relieving solutions?

Ibuprofen and paracetamol (one of each, taken together) two or three times a day until you can get a prescribed medication. And drink plenty of water.

I feel for you; I know how painful it is.

Thankyou iv been doing that I have psoriatic arthritis so apparently I'm 5 x more likely to get it, literally wish I could chop my foot off it's that sore 😔

My GP prescribed Colchicine which cleared big toe gout in about 6 days. Paracetamol helps. But you may need to look at your eating and drinking routine.

I've had 2 gout attacks at the big toe. Both treated with Colchicine which was effective. Tried neurofen gel - pretty useless. Took paracetamol which helped. I don't take neurofen as I have asthma. I'm taking cherry capsules (see Amazon) as people say they ward off attacks but if that doesn't work I shall ask the GP for allopurinol.
