Colds

Evening all, I'm just after a bit of advice - not sure if I'm being a complete wimp or this is a cause for concern/something I need to see a Dr about (it feels very trivial at the min to see a dr over something like this..)

I'd say for the past 3 months at least I seem to be coming down with heavy colds every 2/3 weeks combined with a constant feeling of just being exhausted - I do have a nursery age child but they've been in nursery for a couple of years now and I've never been affected like this by nursery germs before. In fact id say I was rarely affected by colds etc and tbh I can't even link the colds to the child as they seem fine not even a snotty nose etc.

Feeling very sorry for myself tonight as I've started with one again (blocked nose, sore throat, painful sinuses and just general yuk feeling) not long after I'd gotten rid of the last one.

My diets not bad, I get my 5 a day most days but id say I'm currently about 1.5 stone overweight, drink plenty of water & also take my multi vitamins. Sleep is a bit hit and miss due to young child but that's nothing new really.

Should I be concerned / go see the GP?

If it's the last 3 months could it be allergies? I once went fuming, out of exhaustion and frustration, into a pharmacy looking for help with my constant colds... and learned it was a newly developed allergy.

Also, maybe keep a diary. I've had a bad reaction just recently, thought it was a cold then remembered this time last year i had the same, got the meds sorted and i started improving instantly.

Yes could it be hayfever? Failing that check how much vitamin D and C are in your multivitamin and make sure its enough. Then see Dr.

I didn't even think of an allergy! Great idea re keeping a diary. Thanks.

I've actually just realised I bought a spin bike about 4 months ago and the colds seem to coincide with attempting to get into a decent exercise routine, almost like I'm allergic to exercise HmmGrin

Well that sounds like an easy cure🚳😀

I did exactly the same re allergies. Felt awful all the time, went to the pharmacy as soon as they opened as I felt so poorly.
Packet of antihistamines after and I was fine!
This was in March as well, so didn't even think of allergies, never had them before. DS was a few years old though and I was told that you can develop allergies during pregnancy.
DS has allergies too.

Not got any advice but I feel like I have had some kind of virus, illness or cold since November! Haven't had a well day at all since April. I have a nursery aged child and the dr said its just an awful year for illnesses because of previous year's restrictions around covid
