When you are over a certain age do you have annual Blood pressure reviews? Just been sent an email from doctors saying I'm due my annual BP review. I've never had an annual BP review previously.

Have you started on any medication for your BP or are on a new contraceptive/Started HRT /beta blocker or something or are now diabetic?

I'm not on medication for BP and not started any new treatments. I'm rarely ill so rarely visit the doctors so that's why I wondered if it was sent in error or you get invited for certain tests when over a certain age.

Ha, I am currently on holiday and have been getting texts from my GP to send in my BP reading electronically. I am in my 50s.

I have had an annual medication check for years, including BP, and at my last one in March the nurse said see you in 12 mths. Never had a text before, did wonder if it was a scam.

I have just tried to explain to the GP receptionist that just sending texts out isn’t enough - they need to explain why I am being asked for intermediate readings! Too expensive to write to or call you, she said.

There is nothing on my notes apparently, although she did say the nurse will know when I see her. I am not sure how she will know, if my notes haven’t changed.

I have asked that the practice manager call me sometime, as I think they need to explain to people if they need readings more regularly, not just start sending texts out!

I think these GP practises are a law unto themselves.
