Left sided groin pain advice

I have suffered with this for about 3 years on and off. I have had it checked out a couple of times and been given more physio exercises to do myself at home.

I will admit that some weeks I do the exercises 2-3 times and others I miss completely. I'm his could be the problem! But I'm finding it ruining my life! I have two young children, I struggle to walk more than 20 mins until the ache then shooting pain starts, I'm then ruined for the rest of the day and following days until I've 'rested' it enough.

I need to lose weight and I used to love walking :(

I am only 35 and I'm worrying that I'm going to end up in a wheelchair when I'm older if I can't sort this out!

Has anyone been through the same?

It's even stupid things like cleaning the house ...I feel like I've got a certain quota of moves and steps I can make until it starts again, oh and it's even affecting my sex life!

Helppppp

I don't want to rest all the time, as soon as I start activity again it's back.

Hello @GroinPain

Did they figure out what this was at all? I'm 37 and getting shooting pain in the groin on the odd occasion. Just wondering if you got to the bottom of it?

Many thanks ☺️

GroinPain · 11/04/2024 12:52

@Lollyl88 hello,
I'd totally forgotten about this post! And I'm a little depressed that this is still sometimes a problem for me- although not as bad as previously :)

I ended up going to a private physio, who has been fantastic.
I get weekly sports massage (which bruises me A LOT) but, it has helped wonderfully and I haven't had the shooting pain since!

Might be worth a shot?
I'm also still doing the other exercises alongside.
I can now walk for an an hour or so until it is painful.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted.

@GroinPain Thanks so much for getting back to me. I might look into that. Have you had any scans or anything?

I'm seeing a gynae next week as could be endometriosis apparently for me?! Don't know if you've had that investigated. Mine is very intermittent and I don't get it on a daily basis.

I'm glad to hear yours has improved 😊

Deedoo · 25/11/2024 08:42

@Lollyl88 what was your pain I have the same and it started since I went to physio he stretched my leg and now my pelvic is so painful

Lollyl88 · 25/11/2024 09:13

@Deedoo Hello. I have an intermittent shooting pain into my groin and then a dull ache which physio think is adductor tendinitis. I personally think it's hormone related but don't seem to be getting anywhere with it! You've seen a physio - did you see the physio because of your pain?

Deedoo · 25/11/2024 10:20

@Lollyl88 my Gp said it's mechanical but this is not mechanical it's so painful I get back pain and period cramps all day since 7 October

Lollyl88 · 25/11/2024 11:59

@Deedoo have you had an X-rays or scans? If not I'd ask for them

Deedoo · 25/11/2024 16:33

@Lollyl88 yes Iv had X-ray and ultrasound of pelvic abdominal and vaginal done private and mri on Friday.

Deedoo · 25/11/2024 16:34

@Lollyl88 my pelvic scan saw a small cyst on right ovary but gyno doesn't think that's my pain

Lollyl88 · 25/11/2024 18:06

Hopefully your MrI might shed more light? Keep me posted. I have had all of the above but an MRI.

I think mine might be perimenopause related as I have other symptoms but I'm only 38!

Deedoo · 26/11/2024 06:41

@Lollyl88 did you have any cysts

Lollyl88 · 26/11/2024 07:06

@Deedoo No. My scan was clear apart from some mild adenomyosis.

Deedoo · 26/11/2024 07:14

@Lollyl88 thats re assuring. My scan picked up a cysts but it's so painful it's been 4 weeks and my periods are so heavy now it's crazy! Never had heavy periods before either all started in October with back pains then this so cyst must have appeared during ovulation in October
do you get leg pain the groin pain is horrid and I get pelvic pain

Lollyl88 · 26/11/2024 07:52

@Deedoo No. I haven't had any pelvic pain, heavy periods etc. I'd go back to the Gp and see if you can get a gynae referral as it sounds like you're really suffering

Deedoo · 26/11/2024 07:54

@Lollyl88 im under a private gyna
