Recurrent Ear pain/infections/problems

Just looking for a bit of advice really.
I have been suffering with problems with my ears since October 2021 - no previous problems.
It started with an ear infection which got gradually worse and required oral antibiotics to shift. Since then I’ve had at least 5 instances where I’ve required to go to the doctors due to suspected ear infection/ear pain. The last time was about a month ago. I got given some drops as it was “inflamed” but the Dr didn’t think it was infected. He checked both ears at the appointment the good and bad ear for comparison. Just the act of him looking in the good ear then triggered severe ear pain. I ended up using the drops on both ears which seemed to rectify the problem.
As of today I think I have sinusitis. I had a bad cold with symptoms starting around 6th June. I started feeling better a few days later - but I was still really congested. I suffer with hay fever so thought that maybe that may be why I couldn’t seem to shift the snotty nose but I’ve been taking antihistamines and it’s not made any difference. I’ve had congestion which has slowly improved, pressure under the eyes and a headache. I’ve now got severe ear pain and can feel fluid in the ear even though none is coming out. It’s radiating into my jaw. I’ve been managing this with paracetamol and ibuprofen which is alleviating the pain slightly but the area is still very painful. All my Dr had had to say is (via text) that sinusitis of only a few days doesn’t require any antibiotics and to consult a pharmacist.
I just feel like something is going on with my ears. I’ve gone from no issues to regular issues. I’ve never had a sinusitis before from a cold - I normally bounce back really quickly.
Im starting to feel like a hypochondriac but surely this isn’t normal?

@Motherhippo Hi! Hope you've been doing better! Just wondering if you ever got to the bottom of what was actually going on? I seem to be having very similar issues and just clueless as to what's going on with my ears for months...
