Pretty gross but I have noticed that I'm suddenly getting tonsil stones. They don't get very big and I wouldn't have noticed them if they didn't randomly start coming loose in my mouth and I have to spit them in to a tissue. It's so disgusting 🤢 how can I stop them happening? And more to the point, why is it happening?! I don't have a sore throat and I don't have tonsillitis. I had a look in my throat but couldn't see anything obviously unusual. I am getting a funny taste and smell sometimes though but I guess that's because of the stones?? It's proper grim!

I suddenly started getting tonsil stones for seemingly no reason. A couple of weeks later I was suffering with an impacted infected wisdom tooth, don't definitely know it was related but since I had the tooth removed I've had no more tonsil stones.

Oh I was considering starting this very thread!! The last 3-4 weeks I've had them one after another, always on the left side (possibly related to the fact I keep waking up with my left ear blocked most mornings?)

No change of diet or lifestyle that could explain it. So strange!

I go through phases with them where they are constant for a few weeks then I don't get any for months. I still don't have any idea why.
I find a waterpik is best for removing them out of the little crevices.

It’s thought now they play a role in the immune response. I get them if I’m fighting a bug. Or if I snore a lot.

Interesting, thanks everyone. It's very odd as I haven't had them for many years. Guess it's just one of those things, I really hope they stop soon though!
