Heart rate and dizziness?

I've been having dizzy spells lately, more and more frequently but GP couldn't shed any light. During a particular dizzy spell I took my heart rate using phone app and it was 112. It took about 40 mins to come down to my usual mid 70s range.
I've noticed it rising to at least 100 once a day or so. Don't know if this is normal or not. I haven't been physically active when it rises and it usually seems to be worse in the morning. I'm 40 and not overweight.
Does anyone else experience this?

Seems perfectly normal to me. If you track your HR through the day 112 isn't unusual. Your resting HR is literally when you are laid in bed.
