Dark itchy skin armpit

Hello
I was wondering if anyone's had any experience with this. Over the past couple of weeks, the skin around my armpit has become darker, itchy and flakes. My obvious worry is acanthosis nigrans, which scares me from Google, but I'm not sure it's this. My skin isn't dark in the middle of my armpit, but around it, so you can see the dark area when I put my arm down. It's also very itchy and flakey. I'm asian so my skin is dark, but the itchy area is much darker. I'll be calling the GP but wanted to know if other people have had this?

No, but it's itchy and a bit flakey

I had something a bit similar, where the creases in my armpit became darker and were uncomfortable/itchy and flaky.

After trying hydrocortisone and anti fungal creams, the thing which got rid of it was an antibacterial cream the GP gave me (fucidin), so it must have been a bacterial infection.
