Just that really .
I haven't actually been sick but had my head over the toilet bowl amd every time I fall asleep I wake up on the verge of being sick. It must be a bug . I manage to breathe it away with lots of crying like a baby fgs and very understanding dp.
It took absolutely ages to subside last time amd my tummy kept contracting. Im shattered and completely over wrought about the day ahead . Feel like a big baby not wanting Dp to leave me and p***d off I won't be able to go to work as had a big meeting .
Anyway that aside I'm scared to nod off now as I know I'll wake up in that state again .
Had this fear all my life but not actually had a bug or been sick for probably 20 years .

Ah I'm sorry. I used to have emetophobia but then I got hyperemesis gravidarum in my second pregnancy and after a few weeks the anxiety left me... Strangely enough before that I had only been sick once as an adult but I got in a terrible state over nausea.

I had a bug recently though and I had to call my DP to come and do some hand holding while I cried and sweated. My two little children vomited ten times and didn't even shed a tear!

All this is to say that I understand feeling embarrassed but you're not the only one who has this phobia and it's ok to be kind to yourself and ask for sympathy and support. No point telling you that if you are sick it's not that bad and over quickly etc because that won't help. It's just extremely scary for some of us and that's ok. Just don't beat yourself up, especially when you're already feeling crappy.

Oh also I once got some kind of bug on my second date with an old boyfriend and he had to take me home on the train and then read the Moomins to me until I feel asleep because I was an absolute state about potentially being sick! So please don't be embarrassed in front of your DH 😂

It's horrible isn't it? I had a bug over the weekend. I woke up with horrendous heart burn and then had a panic attack. Sat in the bathroom and cried for about 2 hours with horrendous nausea.

I was sick actually, and I have to say when I had a shower afterwards I did feel way better than when I had nausea. It was like relief

I have emetophobia, and I'd suggest getting some headphones on and turn the music up really loud so you can't hear it happening and that's helps a hell of a lot for me

Can you make a nest on the floor near the loo but not do your sat with your head over it. That’s enough to make you vomit as it triggers the reaction.

i had this at the weekend, I managed to not be sick so it then came out the other end, once out I did feel better. I faint when I commit though and that’s the worst bit for me, so am better with my head over the bath so I’ve got better blood supply, maybe try that?

Really hope it passes soon
