my friend swears by it but I am not sure what it is? I have asked her but she goes on a spiritual ramble and extols the virtues of it without explaining how the heck it works. is it really that good???

I've had a couple of Reiki treatments in the past, I've found it very relaxing. You stay fully clothed, lay on a couch & the therapist sort of hovers their hands over certain points on your body. I don't know how or why it works, give it a try.

ReiKi works on the spiritual, mental and physical as well as the energy systems of the body, helping to realign congested areas such as meridians, chakras and elemental channels. The ReiKi therapist works gently with various hand positions around the body, feeling overactive or underactive spots which can be balanced. This assists the body?s self-healing process and is also very relaxing. Sensations from the subtle energies vary and are felt by the practitioner in different ways. HTH u should have a nosey on the spiritual thread on mumsnet if u like that sort of thing, tis very good
