Hi Nympadora

I have endometriosis but currently not experiencing many symptoms

I was diagnosed several years ago and the main treatment I had was a 6 month course of zoladex.

I would imagine the consultant will either suggest this or some laser treatment, if the diagnosis is confirmed.

How long have you been having symptoms?

A lot of women have this (me being one of them) - its the second most common gynae problem seen in women after fibroids.

I would ensure with the cons that the forthcoming lap is not just done as a purely diagnostic procedure otherwise more surgery may be needed. I would also ensure that you are given a follow up appointment a week or so post op to discuss the findings of the lap operation.

Question this person thoroughly on his knowledge of endometriosis; some gynaes are far better than others in this regard and keep their knowledge up to date. Educate yourself as well re endo; knowledge is power!. Have a look at Endometriosis UK's website which is www.endo.org.uk.

HTH and good luck with your forthcoming lap.

Thanks, he did say when I go in if they find anything it will be scraped (???) out while they are there.

A bit worried today as I have a bad chest and am hoping its not an infection cos I don't want to have to delay it any more.
