Last week I accompanied an elderly relative to hospital for tests. It was physically & mentally exhausting - getting them to the clinic, no hearing aid so everything had to be re-explained etc. I ended up fainting & vomiting while I was waiting for them- very embarrassing - and got put in a recovery room 😳 to lie down until it was time to leave. Staff wanted me to go to A&E but I didnt want to leave relative. For several days afterwards, I vomited everytime I ate, or drank tea, was very breathless with pounding heart after only a small amount of physical activity, was headachy/brain foggy & wanted to spend my time sleeping. After a few days I started to feel better.
Yesterday I helped same relative have a bath. It was heavy, hard work. Relative was very demanding and bath/drying/hair washing/bathroom tidying after, took over 2 hours. I was very very tired after, soaking wet with sweat. Had to get up in the night to vomit, and I feel the same today as I did after the hospital visit.
Won't be able to speak to GP until Monday but as a bit of a head's up, does this sound like a virus type illness or is it more related to the stress & fatigue I felt? Can a person feel so ill from physical exhaustion?
