Sorry for the gross photo but, just looking for some advice please? Burnt my arm on the bloody cooker on Monday. Does this look like it’s healing or infected? Been whacking on savlon and been dressing it today. Thanks for any advice

Sorry to post again. Just wondered if there are any health professionals that may be able to give advice. This is another photo (I drew the line earlier). I’m off to London with my family first thing. Just wondering what thoughts are on waiting to see how it pans out? Sorry to be a post pest! Feeling fine, just a bit painful in the area

Not an HCP but that looks like a ring of infection that’s spreading. Could be a risk for cellulitis. May need antibiotics, should certainly ge liked at by a professional

HCP here. I'd get it seen to. Burns can become infected so easily and I think that's what has happened. Hope you get it sorted ASAP.

Thank you for coming back to me. I know burns are ones to keep an eye on but just don’t want to waste anyones time xx

The redness is spreading, you need to get that looked at, don't put any more savlon on it. I suspect it needs antibiotics, cream and a non adherent dressing.

Runmybathforme · 01/06/2022 19:44

Only clean it with water, tap water is fine, never put creams on open wounds unless advised by a HCP. Use a non adherent, sterile dressing and change it daily. Get an appointment with your practice nurse or ring 111.

Yep, get that one seen. HCP here too.

yorkshirepudgf · 01/06/2022 19:53

Thanks all. I’ll give 111 a call xx

So glad you got seen! Hopefully it doesn't need antibiotics
