Hi ladies, i am currently waiting for a referral to a gynae for suspected endo, my gp started me on cerazette about 6 weeks ago, started taking it first day of my period and it literally stopped my period after 3 days, little pain, bleeding mild as opposed to soaking pads every hour (happy days its working or so i thought) skip forward 27 days and there is my little red friend rearing her ugly head again but again it was manageable, no heavy bleeding, mild cramps if any at all, not having to change constantly through the night etc but day 13 and the wee b#@ch is still here 😭 anyone who has been on this please tell me it stops, dont know whether to keep going and give it longer or just stop altogether! Finding myself in a catch 22 here, do i put up with agonising periods for 10-14 days every 27 days or do i put up with constant bleeding, i know its only been 13 days and my periods always lasted around this anyway but norm there would be an end in sight whereas this isn't letting up at all 😭

Hi I have recently been to gp with very similar problems heavy long lasting periods...he has also prescribed me the pill. He told me give it 6 months to really see how it evens out. He said my periods didn't get like this over night. It was years and 4 kids later so he said it may take a few months to feel the full effect of the pill... Hope this helps

@Happymama24 thanks for the reply, i was thinking this myself (3 kids, 3 sections, 2 d&cs) my body has been through hell in 7 years so has to be damage somewhere 🙈 i am praying this stops my periods all together so fingers crossed, have a 3 month supply so will talk to gp again when i ask for a repeat script and see what she advises! May need something extra to stop this bleeding though before i end up anaemic again 🙈 goodluck with yours 🤞

Mine were a bit all over the place to begin with but after a few months they stopped. Haven't had a period in eight years.

I had to come off this because I had a 3 weeks period and it was (looked like it anyway) rather heavy. Switched to the depo injection and only had a small amount of bleeding.

I was given this for heavy and frequent bleeding, and it did reduce the heaviness but not the frequency. After about 10 months I was still bleeding twice a month but only very lightly and for a few days, but the other side effects were too much for me so I came off it. I feel so much better and periods are less than before I went on the pill. I feel like I gave@ it long enough to work, but it just didn’t suit me.
