Vomiting after surgery

DM had surgery on her foot at 3pm this afternoon and has been vomiting intermittently since. Hasn’t kept food down and just brought painkillers back up.

She didn’t have a GA nor sedation, just morphine and a nerve block.

Is this normal? I’m not massively concerned but it is really inconvenient that she just brought the codeine back up as it means she hasn’t got the planned pain relief.

Has anyone any experience of this?

Anesthesia medications, are known for their nausea-inducing side effects. So even though she may not have had GA but Local, she still might feel the impact until it's out of her system. Ask nurse for Anti Nausea meds.
