Health Anxiety

For some time now I've been suffering from health anxiety and I feel like it's really effecting me now. I currently have suspected PCOS and have been waiting for a hospital appointment for what seems like forever. This has made my anxiety worse as knowing there's something wrong but not knowing what is leading me to constantly lookup my symptoms.
Whenever I am unwell I am so worried its something serious. It makes me scared to go on holiday etc incase I become unwell when I am away. I also suffered from recurrent UTIs and I think I have a fear of getting another one. Has anyone got advice on how to try and overcome health anxiety?

I have health anxiety and had some CBT last year. I felt much better and thought I was ‘cured’ but I have realised that it was just that the symptoms had gone. Now I have new symptoms and new anxiety over them and it’s been really hard.
I have come to realise that googling is absolutely the worst thing you can do. I do it to try to find reassurance but was never reassured, and it only added to the panic.
This week I have been trying really hard not to google and I do think I am
feeling slightly more calm.

When I’m really anxious I just want to hide away but I’m coming to realise that being busy and allowing myself to be distracted by other things does make me feel better.

I’m sorry you are having to wait so long, that must be really difficult. Have you much longer to wait?
