6mo dd has been having little sessions of rapid breathing - she sticks her tongue out and pants

We've phoned NHS 24 and we have an appointment at the hospital in 30 mins

She's had a cold - is still quite snotty and has had a cough for the last week or so

I'm really scared

How did you get on at the hospital?

Elibean · 12/01/2008 22:21

Thinking of you, meep. Rapid breathing sounds so scary, dd2 did/does it a lot for different reasons at different times - some needing urgent treatment (eg bronchiolitis) some not (stuffed up nose).

Very hard to tell without medical check, IME, am so glad yo'uve taken her to the hospital.

Hoping you're home, or home soon, and all is well...

hope she is doing better now

Thanks everyone
They checked her chest (we have family history of severe asthma) and blood oxygen and she got the all clear - phew!
She's sitting here doing the funny breathing again - but it seems to be because she's excited to see a favourite toy - maybe I just have a very excitable baby
Am very relieved it's nothing serious but will be keeping a close eye on her!
