How worried should I be about DS1 - age 6?

He started with what seemed like a heavy cold Thurs morning, was reasonably well in himself, but a bit lethargic.

Spent all day yesterday drifting in and out of sleep. Only thing he ate yesterday was half a piece of toast at breakfast.

Was sick for the first time yesterday 7pm, and again a couple of times during the night and then once this morning. Not again since.

He has been asleep most of today and has had nothing at all to eat. Asked for food a couple of times, but unable to actually eat it.

So, the only thing he's had to eat since Thurs teatime is half slice of toast. He is taking sips of water when awake, but has probably slept 35 out of the last 40 hours.

He did have a raised temp, but that seems better now.

Other then trying to keep him drinking, what would you be doing?

exactly the same as you. Let him sleep this bug out of him. My ds 6 has just recovered from a horrendous bug-sounds very much like yours to be honest. Just keep the fluids up.

I'm starting to get really worried now. It's 36 hours since he had even a crumb to eat, he's drunk maybe 3 cups of water in the last 24 hours and he's been constantly sick for the last 4 hours.

I know calling the Doc would be an over reation - everyone's got this right? but he's just so poorly.

He's in bed now, but has been geting up every 20 mins or so to be sick. He's being so brave - I wish I was.

hm, no, not an overreaction IMO. I would say a doctor needs to come out and have a look at him.
