"Been there for weeks" apparently - she's only just told me!

Looks like brown ink but doesn't come off.

I'm panicking ever so slightly...!

Any ideas?'

Looks like a splinter that's been in a little while and the skin has healed over it?

carefullycourageous · 20/05/2022 18:31

What are you panicking that it might be?

It looks like a splinter I agree, but what is the panic about?

cottagegardenflower · 20/05/2022 18:36

A small burn that has healed? From straighteners maybe?

ChewtonBunny · 20/05/2022 18:40

I'm sure it's nothing but I'm wondering why the panic?

PuffyMcPuffFace · 20/05/2022 18:42

Only because I've read about brown lines on finger nails being cancerous! But this is on the finger tip pad as you can see, so it genuinely is only mild panic!

It is not on the finger nail.

HardRockOwl · 20/05/2022 18:47

I'd probably look at your own anxieties here.

But sometime it is appropriate wherever you post

If you are the DD and 13 posting on your mum account. Dont worry. It is fine. Talk to your mum about it

Irrelevant

Tamzo85 · 20/05/2022 19:14

Splinter?

Dont want to alarm but do you think there’s a possibility of self harm? That’s quite popular with girls that age.

Did she tell you or did you notice and then she told you?

PuffyMcPuffFace · 20/05/2022 19:17

@Tamzo85 - she pointed it out.

I'm as certain as I could ever be that it's not self harm. No other marks on her body whatsoever and she's extremely happy and chilled.

How are you when dd gets other marks skin blemishes etc?

ClumpingBambooIsALie · 20/05/2022 19:34

Looks a lot like the kind of mark you get if you pinch your finger in a hinge or something. Takes ages to grow out.

PuffyMcPuffFace · 20/05/2022 19:36

@Dot2dot - absolutely fine!

Blooming heck, wish I'd never posted now. It was because of the many posts I've seen on here over the years where people have had similar marks on their finger nails.

I promise I'm not an over-anxious mum normally, far from it!!

OP posts:
PuffyMcPuffFace · 20/05/2022 19:37

@ClumpingBambooIsALie - ah yes, it does. Think you're probably right.

OP posts:
Lacedwithgrace · 20/05/2022 19:38

Does it hurt/tingle at all? Could be a hair splinter.

HeArInGhandsgirl11 · 20/05/2022 23:52

Try not to worry OP looks like a splinter... ignore all of the rude posters.
